Honor Drenched in ColorIn the midst of battle, when the haze of death covers the field, red strewn on the ground, there is an element of uncertainty. Should one be afraid to die? If one is dying for one’s country and lord, why fear death? The answer is simple. One fears death because one fears lonliness. This is the same lonliness that plagues the last man standing on the grass, grass that is not unlike a painter’s abstract masterpiece. There are colours splashed everywhere. Red, the life of the brave knights who stood before their lords’ castles and took an oath not to retreat whatever the circumstances. Black, the chain-mail armor, work of the lords’ smithies.
